Product Description

IM4200 Advanced Console Server
The Opengear IM4200 is the most advanced console server platform available today. In one secure package, we have developed an out of band management solution for serial console ports, servers, virtual servers, service processors, UPS & PDU's, environmental monitoring and more. The IM4200 family of advanced console servers enables system administrators to securely access and control their data centers and networks from anywhere in the world. The IM4200 is equipped with a built in modem, dual Ethernet, dual power (AC or DC), 2 gigs USB flash and runs on Linux for scalability and reduced downtime.

The IM4200 offers advanced software features to go beyond the requirements of the most demanding applications. Features include Network UPS Tools for UPS monitoring, PowerMan for integrated PDU and RPS functions with in session hotkey support, Pattern match alerting, Open access to the shell for scripting, heartbeat monitor with automatic failover, flexible pinouts and much more. Available in 8, 16 and 48 port models, the IM4200 family of advanced console servers are the perfect fit for in band or out of band access to vital IT assets.

Simple Cabling & Easy Installation
The IM4200 Family of advanced console servers are available in 3 pinout options including Cisco compatible RJ45 ports for easy, quick installation. Install in minutes with our simple web GUI.

2 Gig USB Flash Drive for TFTP Server
Store local copies of router and switch configurations on our 2gig USB flash for disaster recovery. This allows you to make backups of existing configurations before making changes, that way if you break it you can simply roll back the config.

Offline Logs
Store offline logs on our USB flash to provide an audit trail, we log both the serial ports and the available networks to provide syslog, keylogging and a .pcap file for wireshark.

Pattern Match Alerting
Opengear console servers can help you ensure uptime by proactively scanning the serial stream on the console ports for specific errors or phrases. We monitor the traffic on the serial port and will watch for user defined patterns or phrases and send alerts via SMS text or email based on pattern match.

Hotkey Power on RPS/PDU
Imagine yourself having out of band access to a dead communications device that is entirely locked up in a frozen condition, simply hotkey via SSH or telnet to launch our power menu to check power status, power cycle, turn off or on. We have support for thousands of PDU/RPS units, both serial and SNMP connected units.

Scripting
Unlike other proprietary vendors we allow access to the linux core including bash. Why do i need this? Well, you can create proactive self-healing solutions that cycle power on a router or switch on ping failure.

Out of Band
The IM4200 is equipped with a built in modem for dial-in, dial-back and failover. We also support a variety of 3G USB adapters for wireless out of band solutions.
